If you use Slack as a regular tool for internal communication, Emtrain for Slack automatically sends messages to your employees to accompany campaign email notifications. The integration will send Slack messages for all campaign email notifications.
The Emtrain for Slack Integration works only with Emtrain-hosted accounts because it’s tied to Emtrain’s campaign notifications. If you have an LMS-connected account, check to see if your LMS provider offers an integration with Slack. Learn more in Understanding Account Types.
About the App
When you install Emtrain for Slack, the app uses email addresses to match registered Emtrain users with their Slack accounts. Once the integration is set up, users automatically receive both a Slack message and email notification at exactly the same time for any configured campaign notifications. The Slack Integration sends one-way communications; users cannot reply to Slack messages.
Slack messages contain the first 240 characters of the notification message and the assignment due date.
For the Slack integration to work properly, the email address in a learner's Emtrain profile must be the same as the email address in their Slack profile. A learner will not receive Slack messages if these email addresses don't match.
Once the integration is installed, all learners will automatically receive Slack messages along with their email notifications. You cannot selectively choose which types of notifications go to Slack and individual learners cannot opt out of Slack messages while still receiving email notifications.

Install the App
You must have Slack Workspace permission within your own company to install or manage the Emtrain for Slack app.
To install the Emtrain for Slack Integration:
- Navigate to the Site Config area of Manage and choose the Integration tab.
- Click the Add to Slack button in the Slack App section.
- The installation process provides details on the information and permissions required to install the Emtrain for Slack app.
