Campaign Types

When you create a campaign, you can choose between Scheduled or Open campaign types. Each type serves distinct training needs.

Scheduled Campaigns

What they are: Campaigns with specific start and end dates where employees must complete training within that timeframe.

Best for: Annual training that all users need to take, such as cybersecurity or workplace safety.

Annual Data Privacy Training Example You want all employees to get a refresher on data privacy law once a year in March, so you set up a campaign with a March 1st start date and a March 31st end date.

New employees hired in March will receive the training assignment upon hire, with a March 31st completion deadline.

Anyone who joins the company after the completion deadline of March 31st will take part in the training when it runs next March.

Open Campaigns

What they are: Campaigns with a duration—like 10 or 20 calendar days, based on when users begin their assignments. They stay active until you choose to end them.

Best for: Training that happens on a rolling basis, like new hire onboarding.

Ongoing New Hire Training Example You create a “New Hire Essentials” campaign for all new employees with crucial onboarding training topics.

The recent new hires receive the training assignments once the campaign is deployed and their due date is based on the duration set in the campaign settings.

When the next new hire joins the company, the system automatically assigns them the “New Hire Essentials” training, with a due date based on the duration you set.

Open campaigns remain Open and ongoing until you take action to close the campaign.

Keep in mind that our system calculates due dates based on a Day 0 concept: A seven-day training with a start date of January 1st will have an end date of January 8th (seven days later).
