A campaign’s status reflects its current stage in the campaign lifecycle—from draft through deployment and completion.
Becoming familiar with campaign statuses can help you interpret campaign details and reports more effectively.
Draft
Draft campaigns are new and in development, which you haven’t yet deployed.
All campaigns start in Draft status, letting you configure the details and groups before deployment. The system won’t create any assignments or send notifications as long as your campaign is in Draft status.
Campaigns in Draft status can be deleted. Once a campaign moves out of Draft status it can no longer be deleted.
Scheduled
A deployed campaign enters Scheduled status while our system processes and prepares the campaign. The time a campaign spends as Scheduled depends on its start date:
- If the campaign’s start date is the same as the date you deploy it, it will appear with a status of Scheduled for less than an hour.
- If the campaign’s start date is after the day that you deploy it, it stays in Scheduled status until 12:01AM Pacific on its start date.
Active
Active campaigns are those currently running and not yet ended, closed, or withdrawn.
A campaign is considered active once you’ve deployed it and the start date has arrived. This means that learners have received their training assignments and notifications are going out according to schedule. (Additional learners will receive assignments if they are added to groups that are part of the campaign.)
Closed
A campaign's status changes to Closed when the end date has passed or you’ve manually closed it.
When a campaign is closed, all unfinished assignments remain on learners’ To Do lists. Learners can work on that material at any time. The system will not create any new assignments, but scheduled notifications will continue to go out as planned.
The system does allow you to add or edit notifications after a campaign is closed. This is helpful for communicating with learners who are still working through assignments in a closed campaign.
Withdrawn
A campaign with a status of Withdrawn has been cancelled by an admin.
When you withdraw a campaign, all assignments that haven't been started or are not yet complete are cancelled and removed from learners’ To Do lists. Any completed assignments will remain visible on learners’ Completed lists and remain available for reporting. The system will not create any new assignments and will cancel all future notifications.
