This article provides an overview of the options your users have for logging into Emtrain. All users need login credentials. Their login is based on their email address or their Employee ID. You also have the option to add an integration that enables users to login via your existing apps or systems.
Overview
User login creates a secure, validated connection between your employees and the Emtrain app. We understand that logging into apps can be cumbersome for users and we offer integrations that help make it more seamless to transition between work apps and their training assignments.
Basic Emtrain Login
If you have an Emtrain-hosted account, login credentials are required for all user types—admins and learners—to authenticate a connection to Emtrain. If you have an LMS-connected account, this login is how admin users will log in—yourself and other admins. Your learners will not need to log into Emtrain, they access their training via your LMS.
Login credentials have two parts: a unique identifier and a password.
- Option 1—Email: Users will enter their email address and their password. If all of your users have a work email address, this is a solid option. Be sure all users have a unique email address.
- Option 2—Employee ID: Users will enter their Employee ID and their password. This works well if some users do not have a work email, such as shop floor workers. With this option, employees will use a default password the first time they access Emtrain. They will then be prompted to set up a password of their own. Learn more in Basic Info: Login Info.
- Option 3—Email OR Employee ID: If your account is configured for users to have the option to enter either an Email or an Employee ID, they will enter either one along with their password. This method is very popular because it’s the most flexible.
You can identify which of these options your account uses by going to Login Info in the Basic Info section of Site Config.
Additional Integrations
In addition to users’ basic login, you can add an integration for a more seamless login experience. The integrations we offer include Single Sign-On (SSO) and Social Login.
If you have an LMS-connected account, you can add an SSO login for Admin users only. This doesn’t apply to learners, who do not log into Emtrain directly.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
This integration lets your users log into your system once and access multiple apps, including Emtrain. We work with the following SSO providers: Azure, Centrify, Google, Okta, and OneLogin. Learn more about our Single Sign-On Options.
We also offer Just-in-Time (JIT) provisioning, which enables automatic user profile creation the first time a user logs into Emtrain via SSO. Learn about Just-in-Time Provisioning with SSO.
Social Logins
Social logins are a form of Single Sign-On (SSO) linked to social media accounts that enable users to securely log in to an application or website using their social media credentials. We offer Social Logins for Google, Microsoft, and LinkedIn. Learn more about Social Login.
