Configure Harassment Training Campaigns

This article will help you plan and deploy the right anti-harassment training for your workforce so that your organization meets its city, state, and country-mandated requirements.

We recommend familiarizing yourself with the mandated requirements, particularly if you are new to harassment training or if your organization has employees in multiple regions.

Laws change frequently and our resources cover the latest updates. Training requirements will vary depending on where your employees are based geographically. Use these resources to review region-specific training mandates:

Decide on Your Training Cadence

Before setting up your campaigns, give thought to how often you want to run training and the specific training needs of the segments of employees that comprise your workforce.

Frequency

First, consider the training frequency that will work best for your organization. For example, has your organization historically run training biennially? Perhaps you’re considering moving from a biennial to an annual training schedule. 

We recommend annual training because it keeps the learning fresh for your employees and it is more manageable for employees to fulfill shorter time requirements—such as managers who need 60 minutes per year rather than 120 minutes every other year.

Workforce Needs

Next, identify the specific training requirements by employee type, such as managers, non-manager, as well as region-specific requirements. For example, a manager in a city that has specific mandates will need different training than a non-manager in another region. You may want to assign less training to employees who aren’t supervisors, like a shorter time requirement and less content—whereas managers will require more.

Create the Campaigns

Once you’ve decided on your training cadence, it’s time to create groups and campaigns to support your harassment training plans. Use our planning charts to understand what content is required for your training and how to set up the rules.

While we recommend that organizations do annual training of 60 minutes, these charts cover biennial training schedules. Additionally, they cover training setups for both US and non-US locations, as well as how to set up different requirements for managers vs. non-managers to fulfill your required minutes.

  • We recommend that you train all of your US employees annually. However, if your region has legislated requirements for additional training, follow those recommendations.

  • To create separate training assignments for Managers and Non-Managers, you will first create the standard groups and campaigns which covers all of the legislated requirements. Then create two individual managerial-level groups, which will differentiate managers’ assignments by their required minutes.
