How can I tell if I've completed my training?

The requirements to complete a training vary depending on the type of assignment.

Courses are composed of multiple lessons. You must complete all of the lessons in a course to complete the assignment. Some courses also have a minimum time requirement. For those, you must also spend a minimum amount of time on the course overall. See below for more information.

Microlessons are brief assignments covering a single topic that do not have a minimum time requirement. Microlessons are complete when all content has been viewed.

How do I complete a course?

In order to complete a course, you must:

  1. Fully review all lessons in the course.
  2. Satisfy the course's specified time requirement.

In Progress Course

This is an example of a course with three lessons.

  • The learner has completed the first lesson (Social Media Harassment), indicated by a grey checkmark icon.

  • The learner is currently viewing the second lesson (Parenthood at Work), indicated by a green play icon.

  • The learner has yet to view the last lesson (Adapting to Direct and Indirect Feedback Styles), indicated by an open circle icon.

This course also has a 10 minute time requirement. The progress bar at the bottom indicates that the learner has completed two out of 10 required minutes.

The system will pause your progress on a course with a time requirement if it is left idle for 5 minutes. This is indicated with a popup. To resume your session and restart the timer progress, select Continue.

Completed Course

Once a course is completed, it will move from your To Do list to your Completed list.

How do I download my completion certificate?

Some courses have downloadable completion certificates. If this is enabled on your assignment, you will see a View Certificate link below the title on the Completed course.

If you do not see a View Certificate link and you expect one:

  1. Ensure that you have completed the course as described above.
  2. Check with your training administrator to find out if this course is enabled with a certificate.

After clicking the View Certificate link, a card displays with a button to download the certificate as a PDF.

How is my completion recorded in Workday?

Once you complete a Course or Microlesson in Emtrain, the course's status in Workday should also update to "Completed" on its content overview page and on your transcript.

If you're in progress on or have completed an Emtrain course but do not see that reflected in Workday, check that your Workday email address matches your email in Emtrain* - they must be identical in order for your progress in Emtrain to sync to Workday.

  • Find your email in Emtrain on the "My Profile" page under "Employee Information" (get there by clicking "My Profile" in the right-panel menu)
  • Find your Workday email on your Profile "Summary" page under "Personal Information" (get there by clicking the person icon at the top right of your screen and clicking "View Profile")

If the emails do not match, ensure that you are logging in to your SSO provider with the same email address as the one registered in Workday.

If the emails do match, and you can verify that you have completed the course or microlesson, please report the issue to Emtrain by clicking the "Support" button and filling out the "Contact Us" form so that we can figure out a solution.
