We redesigned the Content Library in October of 2025. This article covers the new functionality. Read about What’s New in the Content Library.
Use this article to understand what’s inside the library, how content is organized, and how to use sorting, searching, and filtering to find the right content to deploy for your employee training.
Content is Grouped by Title
The Content Library displays all of your licensed content organized by title, with each title represented by a card. Each card gives you a snapshot of what’s inside, including the content type, a short description, how many versions are available, which geographical regions it covers, and the content pillar it addresses. If any custom versions exist for that title, you’ll notice a Custom label on the card.
To open a list of available versions, select the version count (for example, “3+ Versions”). Alternatively, select the title card to open the Content Details page and explore each version in depth.
Sorting
You can sort the title cards in the Content Library by using the Sort By dropdown menu.
Select one of these options:
- Most Popular shows the most frequently used content at the top. This is the Content Library’s default sort setting and helps you understand what’s trending across industries. Any custom courses you created with us will appear before standard content.
- Alphabetical sorts all of your content alphabetically by title. This is helpful when you know the name of the content you need.
- Newest shows the content that Emtrain most recently created or updated at the top of the results, regardless of when it was added to your account. This helps you make sure you’re selecting the most current content.
To find out when a version of content was added to your account, go to the details page for that version.
Searching
The Search field now includes a dropdown menu, allowing you to choose whether to search by Keyword or Content ID.
Search by Keyword
When searching by keyword—our default search option—use the title of the content or any relevant term. If you need harassment training or content about bias or ethics, use those words as your keywords. As you type, the system automatically indicates the number of matching content titles, displaying results such as “Results for bias (38 titles).”
The system searches across content titles, content descriptions, concepts, and tags associated with content.
Misspelled words will interfere with your results. Try searching with just the first few letters of a topic or title to find what you need.
Search by Content ID
To search by Content ID number, first select Content ID from the search function dropdown menu, then enter the ID number for the particular version of content you want to find. Your Client Success Manager (CSM) can provide a Content ID number if needed.
Note that more than one result may appear because each content type uses its own numbering system. This means a course and an unrelated lesson might share the same number.
Filtering
You have extensive options when filtering content in the library.
Filter Content by Pillar
At the top of the screen you’ll see labels that allow you to filter the content by Emtrain’s three content pillars: Respect, Inclusion, and Ethics. Choose any of these to display only content in a particular pillar.
- Respect: Select this to display all content focused on mitigating bias, removing barriers, managing power, and ensuring equity.
- Inclusion: Select this to display all content focused on fostering curiosity, encouraging empathy, advancing allyship, and thinking systemically.
- Ethics: Select this to display all content focused on engaging morally, demonstrating integrity, nurturing trust, and instilling accountability.
The following additional filters are located in a panel on the right side of the screen.
Filter by Training Type
You can filter by Training Type to view courses, microlessons, diagnostics, or course lessons. Select as many types as you need.
Filter by Location
Use this filter to narrow down content to titles that address specific national laws and regulations. You can filter by the United States, Canada, India, the United Kingdom, or Australia.
Keep in mind that applying a location filter may hide content that works for any country and could still be useful for your workforce.
Filter by Concept
Use this filter to find content that covers specific topics. Concepts are organized by common business categories to help you locate related topics efficiently. For example, within the Manager Basics submenu, you'll find active listening, hiring, job descriptions, and more.
Use the search field to quickly find topics located in any of the categories.
Filter by Culture Skill
Use this filter to find content that aligns with specific workplace competencies. Content is organized around four key areas: Respect, Inclusion, Belonging, and Ethics. Within each area you can select specific skills. For example, within Respect, topics include Mitigating Bias, Connecting In- and Out-Groups, Managing Power, and Ensuring Equality.
Show Only Customized Trainings
Use this filter to quickly find any training titles your organization has customized. When toggled on, the Content Library will display results that include at least one version your team has customized.
Search and Filter Tips
Combine multiple filters to narrow your results. Start by selecting the filters you need, then review what appears. If your results are too narrow, remove filters one at a time until you find what you're looking for.
Filters you’ve selected display at the top of your screen, under All Trainings. Select the X at any time to remove a filter, or select Clear all to remove all filters at once.
