The Preventing Workplace Harassment course for the United States (PWH-US) course offers multiple versions to align with various legal and organizational needs. To make it easy to find the right one for your team, we’ve created a specialized content details page to help you select the best version for your organization.
This article describes the unique features of the Preventing Workplace Harassment course for the United States (PWH-US) details page. Learn more about features that are common to all Content Details Page.
Version Dropdown Menu
The three versions that appear at the top of the dropdown menu represent our recommendations for annual training. If you’ve customized any of these three versions, they’ll also appear at the top.
Additional versions are organized into submenus: More Custom Versions and More Standard Versions both contain additional customized and standard content beyond those listed in the main menu. The More Custom Versions submenu also contains all your historical custom versions, whether you’ve deployed them or not.
Depending on your account type, you may have additional submenus. The Prior Deployed Editions submenu appears if you have an Emtrain-hosted account and have used older editions in previous training. The Prior Downloaded Editions submenu appears if you have an LMS-connected account and contains older editions you've downloaded in the past.
To explore a different version, choose it from the dropdown menu and the page will automatically refresh to show that version’s details.
Version Names
Each version of the PWH-US course has a unique name that includes key information about that version. To help you distinguish between versions, the options listed in the dropdown menu follow this pattern: Edition - Minimum time requirement - Part - Content ID.
Example Edition 13 (60 min timed) Part A - #1234 is the 13th edition of the course, which has a 60 minute minimum time requirement, and contains Part A content.
If the version does not have a time requirement, an estimated duration appears:
Example Edition 13 (60 min) Part B - #1234 is the 13th edition of the course, which runs about 60 minutes, has no minimum time requirement, and contains Part B content.
If you are reviewing a version that was customized for your company, “Custom” also appears:
Example Custom - Edition 13 (60 min timed) Part AB - #1234 is a customized version for your company of the 13th edition, which runs 60 minutes and contains Part AB content.
Part A, Part B, and Part AB Content
- Part A introduces foundational harassment prevention concepts, including legal frameworks, what constitutes unlawful harassment, and reporting procedures. Use this for the first year of your annual training cycle.
- Part B builds on foundational knowledge with scenario-based learning focused on specific workplace situations and emerging diversity, equity, and inclusion topics. Use this for the second year of your annual training cycle.
- Part AB combines all lessons from both Part A and Part B to provide comprehensive harassment prevention education in a single training experience. Use this for a biennial training cycle.
Using the Harassment Training Selection Tool
The Preventing Workplace Harassment-US details page features a training selection tool to help you identify the appropriate harassment training for your organization.
- Start by selecting regions: Select Yes or No for each region listed—California, Chicago, Connecticut, and New York. The tool will generate training recommendations based on your selections that meet compliance requirements for the selected locations. These also meet all other US states’ requirements.
- Review your recommendations: Examine the recommendations to understand which employee groups need which training. The tool specifies the appropriate Part (A, B, or AB), time requirements, and training frequency for each group. For example, the tool will recommend that California-based newly hired managers complete Part AB (120 min timed) once within the first six months, then Part A or Part B (60 min timed) annually, based on California state legislation.
- Understand the context: Review the explanations provided about why certain training is recommended and how the plan ensures compliance across different regions and employee types.
- Explore other options: If you need different versions, such as shorter options for non-managers, untimed versions, or prior editions you've deployed in the past, use the versions dropdown menu to explore those alternatives.
- Get additional help: For more guidance on harassment training requirements, access the provided links to resources about US harassment training requirements or contact your Client Success Manager (CSM).
