This article is for LMS-connected accounts only. It explains how to move content from the Emtrain Content Library to your LMS. If you have an Emtrain-hosted account, you don’t need to download training files, since you assign training directly from Emtrain via Campaigns. Learn more in Understanding Account Types.

Download Files
To download a SCORM file for your LMS:
- Navigate to the Content Library and locate the title you wish to download.
- Select the title for that content, which opens the Content Details Page.
- If the content has multiple versions, use the version dropdown to choose the version you wish to download.
- Select the Download SCORM File option for your content.
- The SCORM file will immediately download to your computer as a .zip file. Do not open or extract the .zip file before uploading it to your LMS.
Repeat these steps for additional pieces of content that you wish to upload to your LMS.
If you download a SCORM file before uploading required policies, a warning will appear to remind you that the file isn’t fully configured. Learners won’t be able to complete the training until your policies are connected to the content. While you can configure policies after downloading SCORM files, we recommend doing so beforehand.
If you need a thumbnail of a course image, right-click on the image and save it.
After you have configured and downloaded your SCORM file(s), you are ready to upload the files into your LMS and launch your employee training.
The SCORM File
The SCORM file that you download is a .zip folder. The .zip file name is unique for each piece of content that you download and contains specific content-identifying data. For example, the .zip file name for “Antitrust Compliance and Competition 3,” appears as shown here:
The imsmanifest.xml and configuration.js Files
While you do not need to extract the .zip file, it contains two files that may be helpful for you to know about:
The imsmanifest.xml file is the “brain” of the SCORM file, containing the SCORM version (1.2, 2004 3rd edition, or 2004 4th edition) that your account is configured to use. This version needs to be compatible with your LMS.
The configuration.js file is located in the rxd folder. It contains the following information:
- Content URL: The URL that the LMS will open when a learner launches the content.
- API Key & Integration Keys: Enable communication between Emtrain and your LMS.
- Course Information: Used for the browser window title.
Content Updates
Sometimes Emtrain makes corrections or updates to content based on legislative changes. When this happens to content that you’ve already imported into your LMS, it will be updated automatically—you won't need to download a new version of the SCORM file.
The same is true when you make updates to your Emtrain account settings such as learner language selection, or content configurations such as adding policies.
If you edit the title of a course, microlesson, or lesson after downloading the SCORM file, the new title appears in the Emtrain learning environment but not in the title of the learner's browser window. The browser window title will continue to display the original title from the SCORM file data. To update the browser window title, you must download the SCORM file again.
